Wood Jackson PLLC welcomes John Kivus to the firm.

John T. Kivus has joined the firm as an associate.  He is a 2011 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he worked as a research assistant for professors on projects involving intellectual property and business law, and served on the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology as a staff writer, published author, and as the journal's Online Editor.

John is a former software engineer.  His experience as a software developer included work with Amdocs, AT&T, Motricity, and NetApp, where he worked on projects for many clients including Bank of America, Costco, and DirecTV.  John's technology background is a significant asset to his legal work in the areas of intellectual property and commercial litigation, including the counseling of clients on the interplay between complex technical and legal issues.  In addition to commercial litigation and dispute resolution, John will provide assistance with intellectual property licensing, as well as trademark and copyright registrations.
