Licensed in both North and South Carolina, Gary Eichelberger has represented small and large businesses as well as individuals through all stages of litigation in both state and federal courts across the Carolinas and beyond. In that capacity, Gary has served as primary counsel in both bench and jury trials, has significant arbitration and mediation experience, and is a skilled appellate lawyer.
Mr. Eichelberger's broad range of civil litigation experience includes commercial disputes, employment matters, real estate disputes, products liability, health care, unfair trade practices, and insurance coverage law.
Based on this extensive experience, Mr. Eichelberger was recently recognized as one of North Carolina’s Future Litigation Stars in both the 2009 and 2010 Editions of Benchmark Litigation, a guide to America’s leading litigation firms and attorneys.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Eichelberger clerked for the Honorable Samuel G. Wilson of the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia. Gary also previously practiced at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP, in Charleston, South Carolina, and Ellis & Winters LLP in Cary, North Carolina.
Mr. Eichelberger is committed to pro bono efforts on behalf of individuals and nonprofit organizations. He brings a unique perspective to his work on behalf of non-profit clients having served for over two years in the top executive position of a non-profit corporation in Greenville, South Carolina. Gary also previously spent a year living and working in Harare, Zimbabwe, where he served as a theology lecturer at two seminaries.
Mr. Eichelberger grew up on a horse farm in the small town of Ninety Six, South Carolina, and currently lives in Chapel Hill with his wife and two children.
