Christopher Jackson represents both businesses and individuals in a broad range of civil litigation matters. He has substantial experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial disputes. A significant portion of his practice presently concerns intellectual property litigation, including copyright, trademark, trade secret and software related matters. He also has considerable experience in matters involving catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death and professional negligence, as well as unfair competition and other business torts. Mr. Jackson has litigated cases successfully throughout North Carolina in both federal and state courts, and in various other courts located throughout the Southeastern United States. In both 2011 and 2012, he was selected by fellow North Carolina lawyers as a member of Business North Carolina magazine's "Legal Elite," an honor given to only approximately 3% of lawyers statewide.
Mr. Jackson previously practiced in both the public and private sectors. After law school, he worked as a staff attorney for the Securities and Corporate Practices Division of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in Washington, D.C., which charters, regulates, and supervises all national banks. He later entered private practice with Kilpatrick Stockton LLP (now known as Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP), an international law firm based in Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked on a broad range of matters for both individuals and companies in cases involving complex business disputes, as well as catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims. In 2001 and 2002, Mr. Jackson served as a law clerk for the Honorable I. Beverly Lake, Jr., who at the time was Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court.
Mr. Jackson also is committed to pro bono efforts on behalf of individuals and non-profit organizations. In 2004 and 2005, he participated in the Ralph Stockton/Kilpatrick Stockton Fellowship program, which allowed him to work full-time with Legal Aid of North Carolina for several months representing indigent clients.
Mr. Jackson is married to Jill S. Jackson, who is a lawyer and Board Certified Specialist in Family Law. They live in Raleigh with their two children.
